The Programmes We Offer
Overview
The Pilates exercises are generic by nature. We have, however, designed a unique teaching programme that enables you to develop your skill in a progressive and safe way. We call our style "PHIT Pilates."
We offer a great variety of classes and courses, so we can meet the varying needs of our students, and endeavour to keep your training fresh and interesting.

We have limited-run educational COURSES, and regular CLASSES. When you first join the school, you must first complete the TECHNIQUE COURSE, which qualifies you to take part in most of our regular classes. We also offer the REFORMER and BALLETFIT courses, which qualify you for the regular Reformer and BalletFit classes.

We now also offer mens only classes. Click here for classtimes.

All classes are done to music upon completion of the Technique course.
COURSES:
Ante-Natal Course

Pilates School of WA-Karrinyup brings you a specifically designed program for women to improve their fitness & well-being during pregnancy. Strengthen your abdominals, back and pelvic floor muscles to support a more comfortable pregnancy & delivery and build upper body strength & stamina to prepare for the challenges of motherhood. The Pre-natal Pilates program is designed to accommodate your body and abilities as you move through the various stages of pregnancy. We aim to teach you to creatively blend the power of your mind with the movement of your body in a way that is safe, efficient and extremely enjoyable.

Ballet-Fit Course

Perth's hottest new programme for women. Our unique programme is designed to offer you an adult ballet-based exercise class with Pilates elements, for beginners.

A basic repertoire of foot and arm work done on a ballet barre, progressing into a sequence of simple flowing movements. A great workout, have fun, and learn all the ballet terminology in a professional, yet non-intimidating environment. Our instructors are professional dancers, who specialise in performance and choreography. Our sensational programme together with their vibrant energy will motivate and inspire you.

Once you've completed this course, you're eligible to attend the regular BalletFit classes.

Reformer Course

The Reformer is an equipment-based routine, adding resistance with the use of springs. With this fun workout suitable for all fitness levels, you will see your body take on a new shape.Once you've completed this course, you're eligible to attend the regular Reformer classes.

Technique Course

This course covers the basic principles and methods of Pilates, and is a pre-requisite to all of our regular classes.

Full Body Class
All Levels

The Pilates School of WA has designed a postgraduate programme after your Technique Course. This is an all-over body workout incorporating, arms, abs, butts and thighs. Applying all the techniques and principles you have learnt, done now in a continuous class format. Progressively increasing your flexibility and strength through a range of basic exercises with ongoing repetitions. Suitable for all participants at any level on completion of the technique course.

Strength & Stamina Class
Intermediate Level

Providing an energetic and flowing all over body workout. Focusing on the core muscle strength to stabilise your body through a continuous series of more challenging exercises. This will get your heart rate up and challenge your strength, stamina and endurance. Suitable for participants who have been doing our classes for more than 4 months.

Technique Class
All Levels

This class is designed for current participants who want to brush up on their technique. This is a back to basics class. Limited range of exercises with focus on fundamental techniques. Familiarise yourself with any updated techniques and correct old habits. This class is recommended on a regular basis for all regular participants.

Fitball Class
All Levels

A fun energetic cardio warm-up is done on the ball to music. This will elevate your heart rate and promote blood flow through the lymphatic system. An intensive, isolated workout, focusing on the abs and legs is followed. A range of varied exercises are done, applying the technique and using the ball as a tool. This enhances core stability and strength. Suitable for all participants on completion of the Beginners or Ball course.

Hips, Butts & Thighs Class
All Levels

This is also an all over body workout focusing on hips, butts and thighs. Applying all the techniques and principles you have learnt, done now in a continuous class format. Progressively increasing your flexibility and strength through a range of basic exercises with ongoing repetitions. Suitable for all participants at any level on completion of Beginners course.

BalletFit Class
All Levels

Additional elements are added to the repetoire, maintaining and improving your balance, co-ordination and control.

Ante-natal Class
All Levels

Strengthen your abdominals, back and pelvic floor muscles to support a more comfortable pregnancy & delivery and build upper body strength & stamina to prepare for the challenges of motherhood.

Qigong Class
All Levels

Based on eastern disciplines of mediation and western principles of body conditioning you can strengthen the body and calm the mind in one program. Qigong opens the energy centers of our body and regular practice of Qigong helps to cleanse the body of toxins, restore energy, reduce anxiety and stress, and help individuals maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Our sequenced routine automatically and progressively improves coordination and improves the mind body connection.
